Hi, I’m Dakshini Niyathapala, but everybody calls me Ducky.
I’m a pint-size neurospicy aspiring designer with goals of working closely in theatre and expanding my portfolio in graphic and craft-based designing. As per the normal cliché, the creative arts have always inspired me and influenced my decision in studying art and design in college, however I found my real passion for theatre whilst studying at the University of Arts London, undertaking a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Design and at college with Art and Design.
What do I want to be like as a designer? I want to create work with the aim of grabbing the attention of the audience and provoking a reaction. I want to transport the audience away from their day-to-day life, even if it's for five minutes, to immerse them in the performance as if they were encountering another world. Although I’m still defining my main style, learning new techniques and inspiration, this makes me quite open-minded in my design work, and adaptable, balancing both my style and the needs of potential clients.
